Free course on Health Policy and the Affordable Care Act



Coursera (sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania) is offering a free, online course called Health Policy and the Affordable Care Act with instructor Ezekiel Emanuel, MD, PhD

This course will explore the American health care system and discuss the specific ways that the Affordable Care Act will impact access, quality, costs, as well as medical innovation.

This class is open to anyone that is interested in gaining a better understanding of the US health care system and the challenges of health care reform. There are no prerequisites or required knowledge of the health system.

The MCH Library at Georgetown University presents a new knowledge path, Overweight and Obesity in Children and Adolescents. The knowledge path directs readers to a selection of current, high-quality resources about the prevention, identification, management, and treatment of overweight and obesity in children and adolescents in homes, schools, and communities. Health professionals, program administrators, policymakers, and researchers can use the knowledge path to learn more about overweight and obesity in children and adolescents, improve care, develop programs, and locate training resources and information to answer specific questions.
